We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to define, develop, maintain, and deliver strategic data science products that demonstrate the value and effectiveness of BNY. The successful candidate will lead and direct projects to develop AI/ML products, GenAI/LLM models, and communicate insights leveraging the scientific method.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop AI/ML and Generative AI /LLM models to address challenging and impactful business problems for BNY, from proof of concepts to production-level deliverables, and produce thorough model evaluation and documentation to support decision and assess model risk
Develop and communicate insights leveraging the scientific method to inform business decisions
Collaborate with internal teams to understand strategic objectives, key performance indicators, and reporting requirements
Establish relationships to obtain data and subject knowledge needed to support advanced analytics
Stay abreast of technology innovations and trends, recommending areas for improvement
Be proactive and autonomous in solving problems, demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and urgency
Key Qualifications:
Advanced degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) or equivalent work experience
5 years of related experience in AI/ML or data science, with experience in financial services or credit business a plus
Deep understanding of applied data science, AI/ML, and GenAI/LLM
Strong and proven hands-on experience implementing solutions (e.g., Python, scikit-learn, Pandas, Keras, TensorFlow/PyTorch, GPT models)
Strong communication skills and highly collaborative mindset
Innovative mindset and creative thinking demonstrated by publications and patents
