Role description and purpose

We have an excellent career opportunity for a Junior Performance Analyst in our New York office. The Junior Performance Analyst will be responsible for performance measurements and reporting on all client portfolios managed by BNPP Asset Management US. Individual portfolio performance calculation will be produced for review and sign-off by the Portfolio Managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate and report performance results to senior management.
  • Work with custodians, trustees, and portfolio managers to resolve all market value differences to within 20 basis points of the net asset value of the portfolio.
  • Validate mandate accounting and performance on a monthly basis.
  • Produce and analyze market value reconciliations as required.
  • Review and resolve outstanding account discrepancies.
  • Prepare standard and customized reports for third parties, as required.
  • Review and oversee adjustments and corrections to the accounting system as appropriate.
  • Special projects as required.


Key internal / external relationships: Portfolio Managers

Role requirements and experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience within Fixed Income Operations or Middle Office.
  • Excellent working knowledge of fixed income securities, foreign exchange and fixed income derivatives.
  • Advanced computer skills (particularly in Excel and Visual Basic).
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline. Excellent academic credentials.

Must be comfortable with complex mathematical concepts and calculations.
  • Organization skills: Capable of managing multiple deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and making sure that time is used efficiently and all the deadlines are met. Able to respond to situations using rational decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. Flexible but effective time manager who is able to prioritize responsibilities, manage several simultaneous projects from inception to completion.
  • Accuracy: Constantly attentive to the precision and thoroughness of the information sent and to the quality of the work; ensures that errors are minimized. Reflects on and learns from mistakes and setbacks.
  • Communication skills: Articulate, expresses his / her messages, both orally and in writing, in an effective, organized way, which is appropriate to the audience being addressed.
  • Teamwork: Inclusive and demonstrates strong relationship-building skills. Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable working in a fast-paced high energy environment that is deadline driven and detail-oriented.
  • Taking Initiative: Works proactively and independently, implementing work processes, ideas and solutions, including in situations where information is missing or wholly unusual. Demonstrates high emotional intelligence by being aware of one’s own emotions, strengths, weaknesses, and how these may impact personal performance and/or those around us. Works well under pressure. Candidate will be strong team player, self-motivated, and industrious and able to work unsupervised when necessary.

Physical presence in BNPP AM’s office(s) is an essential function of this position. This role has the flexibility of being hybrid, consisting of an in office and remote working component.

The expected starting salary range for this position in New York City is between $75,000 to $85,000 annually. Actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
