Job Description: BNL Head Varsity Baseball Coach

Position Overview:

BNL High School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Head Varsity Baseball Coach to lead and develop our Varsity Baseball team. The Head Coach will play a pivotal role in the growth and success of our baseball program, working closely with student-athletes to enhance their skills, instill sportsmanship, and promote teamwork. Responsibilities:

• Coaching: Plan and conduct baseball practices focusing on skill development, strategy, and game fundamentals. Provide instruction on baseball techniques, rules, and game strategies to enhance players' performance.
• Game Preparation: Analyze opponents, strategize for matches, and prepare the team for various baseball events and tournaments.
• Player Development: Offer players personalized coaching and constructive feedback, helping them improve their baseball skills, mental toughness, and understanding of the game.
• Attendance: Attend all team practices, games, tournaments, and other related events, which may include occasional weekend travel.
• Team Culture: Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and respect for fellow team members, competitors, and the baseball field.
• Team Management: Organize team events, fundraisers, and community engagement activities that support the baseball program.
• Academic Monitoring: Keep track of student-athletes' academic progress and well-being, offering guidance and support to ensure their success both academically and athletically.
• Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to school and district policies regarding athlete conduct, safety, and eligibility.
• Logistics: Manage baseball equipment, coordinate practice and game schedules, and perform other logistical tasks related to the baseball program.

Qualifications:

• Baseball Experience: Previous experience playing baseball, preferably at a competitive level, with a strong understanding of baseball rules, techniques, and strategies.
• Coaching Experience: Coaching experience is advantageous, especially in high school or equivalent settings.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively convey instructions, provide feedback, and interact with players, parents, coaching staff, and school administration.
• Leadership: A positive and collaborative approach to coaching, demonstrating leadership on and off the baseball field.
• Player Development: Ability to motivate and inspire athletes to reach their full potential and develop their baseball skills.
• Inclusivity: Dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive environment that values diversity and the growth of all team members.
• Availability: Available during after-school hours, evenings, and weekends for practices, games, and team-related activities.

Requirements:

• Valid coaching certifications or a willingness to acquire necessary coaching certifications.
• Completion of background checks and other mandated clearances in accordance with school district policies.
• Adherence to all school and district guidelines and procedures.
