Position Hours:  Full-Time, 9am-5pm

Position Rate: $22.24/hour

 

Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Behavior Support Specialist (BSS) to join our team in supporting adults with intellectual disabilities. This role focuses on developing and implementing individualized behavior plans that promote independence, emotional well-being, and social development. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in behavioral theories, especially Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), and committed to improving the quality of life for those they serve.

A typical day-to-day may include:

  • Developing and implementing individualized behavior plans using ABA techniques
  • Conducting assessments and collecting behavioral data to inform treatment strategies
  • Working directly with clients to achieve behavioral goals and promote independence
  • Training and consulting with caregivers to ensure consistent support across environments
  • Participating in treatment team meetings and case conferences
  • Documenting sessions, progress notes, and behavioral data accurately
  • Maintaining effective communication with support staff and families
  • Upholding confidentiality and privacy standards in all aspects of care

 

What you’ll have:

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or Gerontology
    OR
    Bachelor’s degree in one of the above fields and work under supervision of a qualified professional
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities and behavioral challenges
  • Strong organizational, time management, and crisis response skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Valid driver’s license
