What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Leader - Camp Shamrock 2026 position at BNI Talent Acquisition Team?
Overview (What is this role? What are we looking for?):
This position reports to the Site Supervisor and is responsible for assisting in the leadership and guidance of staff members and campers within their assigned area as directed by the Site Supervisor. In addition, this position is responsible for carrying out a productive daily schedule of skill building and recreational activities, as well as providing a safe and fun atmosphere for the entire camp experience.

- Comfortable assisting with personal hygiene needs.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of fire and emergency evacuation procedures and equipment.
What you’ll have (Qualifications):
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Have an active, valid U.S. driver’s license
- Eligibility for State Police Criminal Record Check, Motor Vehicle Report, Child Abuse History Clearance, and FBI clearance
- Experience working with children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
- Associate's degree in special education (or a related field); or experience working in Camp Shamrock previously.
A typical day-to-day may include (Responsibilities):
- Maintaining the safety, well-being, and comfort of all campers.
- Responsible for the daily routine of meeting buses, assisting campers at lunch, completing self-care tasks, etc. as directed by the Site Supervisor.
- Provides direction to Camp Shamrock recreational assistants.
- Will follow directions given by the Site Supervisor.
- Assists with student transportation as necessary, such as driving a van or lift van.
- Assists Site Supervisor in completing daily accountability forms, including Incident and Accident reports as required.
- Assists in the care of classroom furniture, instructional materials and A/V equipment.
- Attends all staff meetings, training sessions, and in-service programs.
- Responsible to work hours that meet the scheduling needs of the camp.
- Assist Site Supervisor in ensuring that adults receive necessary medication from camp nurse.
- Attends mandatory camp orientation and any additional training.
