Behavioral Health Technician - (3.1) 16 Bed Female Program
Weekend Shifts (Every Saturday and Sunday):
2nd Shift - 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
Job Purpose
The Behavioral Health Technician is a vital member of the BNA Behavioral Health system of care. The BHT is under the supervision of the Behavioral Health Technician Supervisor and/or Program Director. Additionally, the BHT is responsible for recording resident behavior while providing a safe, and supportive environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, therapeutic environment for residents.
- Monitor and observe the resident's behavior. Document interaction as necessary.
- Search new residents admissions belongings to ensure no contraband is brought into the facility and valuables and medications are secured.
- Provide regular safety checks of the houses and report any risk to the BHT Supervisor and/or Program Manager
- Prepare residential areas for new residents
- Conduct random house searches for contraband
- Ensure all houses are kept clean
- Works closely with the Clinical and Medical teams
- Attend all shift change and staff meetings
- Assist clients with completing tasks on tablets for intakes and surveys
- UA labeling and uploading
- Assist with updating housing documents
- Putting together intake packets and making copies of other documents as needed
- Organizing and stocking the tech office
- Organizing and stocking housing and resident's belongings
- Assist with supervising UA’s as required.
- Perform other related administrative duties as required
Knowledge, Education, and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must have the ability to interact with residents and staff in a professional manner
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Must have a minimum of 1 year of continuous sobriety before hire
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize needs
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong computer skills to include Word (Google Docs), Excel, and Microsoft Office
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
