What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Hand position at BMS?
Key Responsibilities:
- Gathering necessary documentation
- Locate and collect inspection reports, shipping documents, material certifications etc.
- Properly package items for shipment
- Shrink wrap and banding pallets
- Ensure that parts are properly secure for shipment and are protected from shipping damage
- Safely Load/Unload Pallets on shipping vehicles/trailers
- Sometimes this will need to be done during inclement weather
- Snow removal
- Snow can impede shipments, therefore the dock and shipping areas may need to be plowed or shoveled and salted
- Moving parts and assemblies utilizing a Fork truck
- Some parts fabricated are large enough where they must be moved with a fork truck. This can be tedious, moving parts around the shop, great care must be taken while performing this role.
- Debur / Part Mark
- Burs and sharp edges need to be removed from parts before they can be moved throughout the machining processes.
- Customer, Part number, rev level etc. sometimes need to be marked on the part prior to shipping
- Assist Expeditor as needed
- This can vary day to day, from running to the store for a particular paint, to running a small machine operation after properly trained.

Preferred Certifications & Qualifications:
- Fork truck certified
- OSHA 10/30-Hour Certification.
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
