Freight Handler
The Freight Handler is responsible for preparing and packing customer orders in a B2B fulfillment warehouse. This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and adherence to company standards to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Unload finished goods from packing lines, stack boxes on shipping pallets according to company standards and safety guidelines.
- Ensure pallets are stacked securely and meet quality standards for weight distribution and stability.
- Organize items for efficient stacking and wrapping.
- Use a wireless scanner to scan item barcodes into the computer system and verify that scanned information matches system records.
- Safely and efficiently shrink-wrap completed pallets to prepare them for transportation.
- Load pallets onto trucks according to shipping schedules and delivery specifications, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Efficiently manage time to meet daily processing demand.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications/Skills:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 year of previous warehouse experience preferred
- Ability to operate an RF scanner
- Basic reading and math skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Ability to stand of long periods
- Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50lbs
- Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safe working environment
