Position SummaryThe Operations Manager leads the growth and operational strategy for the Parts & Service business across the branches within their region. This role is responsible for driving performance and implementing efficient, standardized processes across all locations. The Operations Manager works closely with the Regional Operations Director to implement company operations standards and drive continuous improvement in operational performance.Essential DutiesDrive operational and financial performance across assigned branches by analyzing key business metrics, advancing Coric Equipment’s objectives, and ensuring accountability for achieving Parts & Service budget and operating plan targets. Hold overall responsibility for the Parts and Service P&L.
Ensure the annual financial objectives of the assigned branches are met with respect to revenues, direct costs, gross margin, operating costs, and branch profitability.
Formulate programs and initiatives that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.
Ensure the assigned branches have the resources needed to execute the plan and achieve their annual financial and business objectives.
Build and develop talent capability within the division in line with Coric Equipment’s Guiding Principles by coaching team members, setting objectives, and holding people accountable.
Lead the Customer Support Team, including training and managing local Managers, so that each can train others, work independently, and manage their area analytically.
Promote a positive team culture and high morale.
Identify, drive, and support customer relationships for parts and service — discovering needs, quantifying how Coric Equipment can add value, generating parts, service and rental sales, and providing solutions as an individual contributor.
Develop knowledge of market needs and Coric Equipment’s relative strengths and weaknesses in meeting them.
Understand market and competitive landscapes to appropriately position Coric Equipment for success.
Represent Coric Equipment in industry groups and in public forums.
Communicate and work effectively cross-functionally and across business groups.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in engineering or a related field. 2–5 years of business and/or service leadership experience, with experience leading facilities. Material handling, heavy equipment, or industrial service background preferred.
Leadership & People Management: Strong leadership and accountability; proven ability to coach, develop, and retain branch leaders, technicians, and service support staff.
Financial Accountability: Proven P&L and budget ownership; drives profitability, cost control, and results against the operating plan.
Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Synthesizes complex data into clear workflows, plans, and decisions; understands market and competitive position and adapts strategy accordingly; proficient in strategy execution and change management.
Operational & Technical Knowledge: Strong workflow coordination, technician management, and data management capability. Experience managing preventive maintenance programs and field technician dispatch preferred; warranty administration experience preferred.
Customer Service: Strong customer service focus with the ability to maintain clear, proactive communication with customers throughout the repair and service process.
Communication & Teamwork: Communicates clearly across functions and levels; builds team spirit, resolves conflict constructively, and contributes in group problem-solving settings.
Organization: Strong organizational and prioritization skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced service environment.
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving ability and a consistent commitment to safety and operational discipline.
Credentials: Valid driver’s license required; must be insurable under the company’s vehicle insurance policy and maintain a clean DMV record, verified periodically.Work Environment and physical conditionsWork is performed primarily at the branch, with regular time spent on the shop floor and periodic visits to customer locations, including manufacturing facilities, warehouses, cold storage, and outdoor environments. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and noise from shop equipment. Noise level is usually moderate.
Frequent walking and standing across the shop floor and service bays; occasional lifting and carrying of up to 35 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
Ability to travel locally to customer sites, rental locations, and branch facilities as needed.
Must wear required PPE when on the shop floor or at customer sites, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and high-visibility clothing as applicable.
