Regional HVAC & Refrigeration Director

Our client is seeking an experienced HVAC or refrigeration leader to develop its Carolinas operation. Our business primarily services commercial hot-side kitchen equipment, and our existing customers are asking us to expand into HVAC and refrigeration support.

This person will help turn that demand into a service operation—developing customer relationships, building a team, and ensuring we deliver quality work. The title and scope can flex around your experience, from a strong technical leader ready to build a team to an established operator who can lead its growth.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The operation is based approximately 45 minutes west of Charlotte and will support customers across the Carolinas. There is flexibility around office time depending on where you live and the needs of the business. This is a regional leadership role involving customer visits and field engagement.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Help establish and grow the Carolinas HVAC and refrigeration service operation.
• Work with existing customers to understand their equipment, service needs, and maintenance priorities.
• Help recruit, onboard, train, and develop technicians as the operation grows.
• Set expectations for workmanship, safety, responsiveness, and customer communication.
• Provide technical guidance and help resolve challenging service issues and customer escalations.
• Develop estimates and proposals for service, preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment replacement.
• Coordinate staffing, subcontractors, equipment, and materials to deliver work as promised.
• Monitor job costs, service performance, and profitability.
• Partner with company leadership on hiring priorities, service capabilities, and regional expansion.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• An active HVAC contractor license OR refrigeration contractor license in North Carolina or South Carolina. Both are not required.
• Commercial HVAC and/or refrigeration experience with the technical knowledge to guide field teams and support customers.
• Experience leading technicians, service teams, or mechanical project personnel.
• The ability to build customer relationships and follow through from identifying a need to completing the work.
• Sound judgment around estimating, staffing, costs, and service quality.
• A willingness to take ownership of a developing operation and remain involved in the field as needed.

Experience building a service team, opening a branch, growing a territory, or operating an HVAC/R business is especially valuable. Commercial kitchen and foodservice equipment experience is a plus.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• $120,000–$130,000 base salary, depending on experience.
• Annual bonus opportunity of approximately $20,000.
