General Service Technician - Mechanic - Per Diem

General Service Technician - Mechanic - Per Diem Shift: Per-Diem (All hours, All-Days, As-needed) The General Service Technician - Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of hospital building systems and mechanical equipment to ensure a safe, reliable, and compliant healthcare environment. This position performs preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, electric motors, generators, air compressors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and other facility infrastructure. The Maintenance Mechanic utilizes diagnostic tools, interprets blueprints and technical schematics, and identifies root causes of equipment failures to minimize downtime and support continuous hospital operations. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of building systems, CMMS experience, and familiarity with OSHA and safety regulations. Responsibilities require the ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and respond effectively to routine and emergency maintenance needs. Technical or vocational training in mechanics, experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and a valid driver's license are preferred. Completion of a trade school apprenticeship program or higher, preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: Preferred (not required for hire but may be required during employment): Forklift operation certification, lock out tag out, confined space, MSDS, asbestos and lead identification, ladder safety, emergency evacuation, in-house OSHA and respirator training. Vaid Driver's License required. EXPERIENCE: At least three years’ experience in either a construction, commercial, industrial, or facilities operations setting. Compensation Range: $36.21- $57.38 This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications.
