We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our real estate department in our Monticello law office. This is a temporary position to cover a medical leave from November through year-end, with training starting well in advance of November 1, 2025.
Flexibility & Growth: Work in Monticello or Goshen – short-term role with long-term potential.
The role has strong potential to transition into a permanent position in either our Monticello or Goshen office.
Holiday Stability: Secure work through year-end, with the chance to make it permanent.
Responsibilities
- Prepare real estate contracts and transaction documents.
- Organize and maintain files for closings.
- Communicate with clients, title companies, mortgage companies, and other law firms.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Record and securely store client information.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant within a law firm (real estate experience preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and general computer skills
- Personable, enthusiastic, and client-service oriented
- Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented
