Senior Estimator

Base Compensation Range: $75,000 - $95,000 annually

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review project documentation to determine scope of work, assess risks, and interpret building plans.
• Prepare and review cost estimates incorporating local pricing and market trends.
• Prepare and manage multiple estimates at a time.
• Prepare final approved estimating documents.
• Lead project kick off and final review meetings.
• Support project teams in the resolution of cost discrepancies, preparing and reviewing budgets prior to bid and contracting of project.
• Quantity measurements using Active Takeoff or other software.
• Maintain continuous communication with the project team about estimating status and logs status notes weekly.
• Reports to their Chief Estimator with technical questions regarding projects.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

• This role has no direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 years experience in construction estimating.
• Solid understanding of construction methods and best practices.
• Confidence with large complex projects.
• Ability to build scope of work into appropriate estimating software.
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft suite applications and Xactimate.
• Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and conscientious.
• Ability to work independently and multi-task with various priorities while maintaining focus on achieving deadlines.
• Must be able to read architectural plans and specifications.
• Self-starter with excellent problem solving skills.
• Experience in project management.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience preferred.

TRAVEL:

• Occasional travel. (Less than 25% of the time.) Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected for training or meetings.

The noise level in the work environment can range from quiet to significantly loud. The employee must regularly lift and/or move between 25-50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle material, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee is required to regularly move and walk around the office.
