Overview

Under general supervision of the Community Relations Manager, the Marketing Specialist is an integral member of the Retail Administration team. This position is responsible for a variety of contributions, including campaign conceptual development, marketing collateral creation, copywriting and proofreading and much more. This position will also need strong project management skills and will be assigned other duties depending on department and corporate needs.

Responsibilities

• Creates copy and coordinates creative direction of promotional materials as required. (Including display materials, branch promotional signage, collateral, branch display TV, statement inserts, email marketing, etc.)

• Uses analytics and other metrics to demonstrate the effectiveness of campaigns

• Responsible for proofing and accuracy of marketing materials and collateral.

• Creates and designs marketing material as needed using Adobe Creative Suite

• Provides marketing support and development of materials for internal departments as needed.

• Writes internal communications regarding marketing campaigns and promotions including the Marketing Communication Brief.

• Works with team to create specific target audiences and uses Marquis/Keystone to pull member lists.

• Assists in the design and development of integrating alerts into Keystone’s Key Insights module to provide a better member experience.

• Helps coordinate the marketing relationship with CUNA Mutual to include creation and deployment of membership files; fulfillment of marketing creative materials for branches; and tracking of enrollment and revenue generation.

• Uploads all statement messaging through ClientConnect and approves all statements in a timely manner.

• Manages ATM screen and digital signage content production for the retail branch network and related marketing partners.

• Manages the retail, partner and marketing merchandising plan, including the production, approval and placement of merchandising displays and other collateral through both print and digital channels.

• Manages the ordering, inventory, delivery and in some cases the installation of retail/partner marketing collateral (including digital signage) for branches, business development, lending, and other departments as needed.

• Routinely audits retail displays and collateral to ensure quality standards and conducts merchandising change-outs as needed.

• Supports the Marketing Manager with event and promotion coordination (i.e. targeted collateral, event planning, execution and follow-up) using project management software (Workfront).

• Manages project and task assignments using enterprise-wide project management software.

• Supports special event planning and implementation, including the annual employee meeting, strategic partner events, Annual Membership meeting, special board meetings, media events, business development events/on-sites, community events and member education events (ex. seminars). Occasional meeting/event staffing support as assigned.

• Adheres to company policy and procedure, completes annual compliance training, comply with business continuity and vendor management policy. These are crucial to the success of the organization and have regulatory compliance and/or safety and soundness for the sustainability of the credit union.

• Comply with all Anti Money Laundering laws such as the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and USA PATRIOT Act and all related policies and procedures including accurate Member/Customer Identification Program, member due diligence, accurate OFAC match processing, and reporting unusual activities and suspected fraud.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • B.A./B.S. degree in Marketing, Design, Communications, Business Administration, or Journalism is required. Minimum three to five years of marketing or communications experience, with strong emphasis on design, creative development and marketing.
  • Candidate must have strong written, verbal, spelling and proofreading skills. Requires excellent writing, editing and communication skills.
  • Ability to conceptualize and create PowerPoint presentations, including charts and graphs, interpret data and calculate basic mathematical formulas and ratios.
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to think strategically, as well as tactically. Ability to analyze data to identify key findings.
  • To perform this job, the employee must possess applicable technology skills. Strong phone and MS Office skills (including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new programs as applicable.
  • Must be proficient in desktop publishing environments, and have strong word processing and design software skills. Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, and basic HTML required.
  • Ability to travel and support after-hours and weekend events on occasion.
