Nonprofit Client Accountant
About Blundell Accounting Solutions
Our vision is to empower students with educational freedom of choice by providing not-for-profit private and charter schools with the financial tools for success.
We do meaningful work for great people — and our clients regularly tell us how much easier our outsourced accounting and advisory services make their lives. We need smart, reliable people like you to help us move our vision forward.
About the Role
As a Client Accountant, you’ll be the day-to-day accounting partner for a portfolio of 5–8 charter school clients. Your mission is to keep the details moving, keep the books accurate, and keep clients confident that all deliverables are consistently managed and completed.
This is a hands-on role (revenue and expense coding, AP/AR processing, month-end close), with a strong client-service core. You’ll be the person who makes clients feel supported through consistent follow-through and clear updates.
Important: You will not lead client meetings. You’ll work closely with (and report to) the Client Controller, who leads meetings and client strategy. You’ll be the engine that keeps the day-to-day execution running smoothly.
Work Schedule and Location
- Part-time: ~30 hours/week

- Maintain a steady, professional, helpful tone that builds trust over time
- Escalate issues, risks, and “this might become a problem” items to the Client Controller early
Hands-on accounting execution (where you’ll spend most of your time)
- Code bank/credit card transactions in QuickBooks Online
- Process AP and AR, including hands-on processing and oversight
- Manage workflows in Bill.com
- Complete month-end close and reconciliations for assigned clients
- Support budget vs. actual reporting and draft variance explanations
- Support grant financial reporting and tracking
- Assist with audit prep (documentation, tie-outs, schedules, and responsiveness)
Accountability & quality
- Own the quality, timeliness, and completeness of all tasks for assigned clients
- Stay current on deliverables so deadlines and commitments are consistently met
- Keep month-end organized using our month-end tracking system
Tools You’ll Use
