Duties
- Prepare sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and creativity.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and ready for use.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Follow food safety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure the highest quality standards.
- Assist in menu development by providing input on new sushi offerings and seasonal specials.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or food industry setting.
- Proficient knife skills with an understanding of various cutting techniques specific to sushi.
- Knowledge of Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi-making techniques.
