Role Requirement: This position requires an active Oregon EFDA certification and a minimum of 1 year of dental assisting experience. Candidates without an EFDA certification will not be considered.

What We're Looking For (Qualifications)

• Certification: Active Oregon EFDA Certification (Required)
• X-Ray Certification: Active Oregon RHS Certification (Required)
• Experience: 1–3 years of clinical dental assisting experience (Pediatric experience or Open Dental software experience is a major plus!).
• Life Support: Active BLS/CPR certification.
• Mindset: A warm, patient-focused attitude with the ability to keep energy high and positive in a busy pediatric clinic.
  
  

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

As an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, you will play a critical role in clinical efficiency and patient comfort:

• Chairside Excellence: Provide high-quality four-handed dentistry alongside our pediatric dentists during clinical procedures.
• Expanded Duties: Place matrix bands, place temporary restorations, and perform other EFDA duties allowed under Oregon regulations.
• Imaging: Take clear, accurate dental radiographs (RHS certification required).
• Patient Experience: Guide children and parents through their appointments, using age-appropriate language to ease anxiety and build confidence.
• Clinical Flow: Prepare, sterilize, and turn over treatment rooms efficiently to maintain a smooth daily schedule.
• Safety Leaders: Maintain perfect compliance with OSHA, CDC, and ADA safety guidelines.
