OSP Inspector (Field Technician) – Fiber to the Home (FTTH)

We’re looking for a detail-driven and safety-focused OSP Inspector (Field Tech) to help bring next-generation fiber connectivity directly to homes and businesses. What You’ll Do
Quality & Inspection
- Inspect FTTH construction activities including mainline, distribution fiber, service drops, and terminations.
- Verify installation of fiber optic cables, splice enclosures, cabinets, handholes, and pedestals.
- Oversee directional boring, trenching, and pole attachment processes for compliance with plans and safety regulations.
Safety & Compliance
- Monitor adherence to all safety protocols and traffic control requirements.
- Ensure projects meet permitting, right-of-way, and local utility regulations.
- Verify compliance with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and local ordinances.
Coordination & Communication
- Act as the key point of contact between contractors, project managers, and internal teams.
- Communicate field progress, identify issues early, and help keep projects on schedule.
- Provide clear, timely updates and escalate challenges when needed.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare thorough inspection reports with photos, as-built updates, and quality findings.
- Track contractor performance, materials used, and deviations from project specifications.
What You’ll Bring
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Telecommunications, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 3 years in FTTH or OSP construction and inspection.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of fiber optic installation, splicing, and testing (OTDR, power meters, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, splicing diagrams, and maps.
- Familiarity with GIS and OSP management tools is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
Physical & Travel Requirements
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather and terrain conditions.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Willing to travel frequently within the project area.
Preferred Certifications
- FTTH Council Certification or equivalent.
- OSHA 10/30 Certification.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
