Duties And Responsibilities
- Obtains required information from customers for transactions, complete purchasing and shipping documents and daily reconciliation of transactions.
- Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures.
- Attend safety meetings and participate in safety programs.
- Responsible for following all legal requirements on purchasing materials. These requirements include, but are not limited to; check ID, take pictures of seller, record vehicle information, etc.
- Communicate pricing information and material specifications to customers with the ability to connect well with all levels of customers and management.
- Ensure good customer relations by acting in a courteous, safe, and professional manner.
- Interact with employees on other scales to verify/restrict duplication of purchases.
- Ensure metals that are purchased are correct and properly classified.
- Answer company phone calls, provide customers with up-to-date market information and transfer calls as needed.
- Willing to cross-train in other positions and assist other employees as needed.
- High School diploma or GED
- Strong communication skills to successfully interact with employees, management, and customers.
- Strong writing skills to effectively complete paperwork.
- Strong computer skills (working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel).
- Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks at once.
- Ability to complete assignments on time with attention to detail.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Willing to work overtime and weekends when necessary
