Role Description This full-time, on-site Industrial Electrician role is based at BlueScope Coated Products’ facility in Byram, MS. The Industrial Electrician will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment, including motors, controls, power distribution, and instrumentation for coil coating operations. Responsibilities include performing preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnosing electrical and electronic issues, and ensuring equipment uptime and safety. The role also involves reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical documentation, collaborating with maintenance and production teams, and adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. The Industrial Electrician will support continuous improvement efforts, assist with equipment upgrades, and document maintenance activities to maintain accurate records.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong industrial electrical skills, including knowledge of three-phase power, motor controls, and power distribution systems.
- Candidates should possess skills in troubleshooting and diagnostics for electrical and electronic equipment, including PLCs and control systems.
- Candidates should possess skills in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Candidates should possess skills related to preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and safe work practices in an industrial environment.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and teamwork skills to work with maintenance, engineering, and production teams.
- Relevant technical training or certification in industrial electricity or electrical technology; a journeyperson-level qualification or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial settings, ideally with coil coating, metals, or related processes, is beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in Byram, MS, follow safety procedures, use appropriate PPE, and perform physically demanding tasks such as standing, lifting, and working at heights when required.
