Position Summary
The Procurement Buyer will play a key role in supporting the procurement function within a dynamic biotech/pharmaceutical environment. This position is responsible for reviewing requisitions, placing orders, negotiating proposals and contracts, managing vendor relationships, and procuring capital equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. This is a highly visible role that will work with both internal partners and external suppliers.
\n- Review and process purchase requisitions for goods and services.
- Source suppliers and obtain competitive proposals to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions for contracts and purchase agreements.
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance with company standards.
- Coordinate procurement of capital equipment, including evaluation of contractual terms and lead times.
- Monitor order status, resolve invoice and order discrepancies, ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and support audit/compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with business needs and goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 0–3 years of procurement or supply chain experience, preferably in biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and solve problems effectively.
- Proficiency in procurement systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, collaborative team environment
- Knowledge of GMP and regulatory requirements is a plus.
- Target Base Salary: $65,000-$77,000
