Position Summary
The Aquatics Supervisor oversees daily aquatics operations across our client sites, ensuring a safe, well-staffed, and professional environment for swimmers and staff. This role serves as a point of contact for our clients and is responsible for site visits, lifeguard scheduling, staff development, and ongoing quality assurance.
Required Certifications
- Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
- Lifeguard Instructor certification preferred (certification can be provided).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Reliable transportation for travel between client sites.
Key Responsibilities
Site Visits & Quality Assurance
- Conduct regular, scheduled, and unannounced site visits at all assigned client facilities.
- Audit lifeguard performance, scanning, rotations, posture, and rescue readiness; provide on-the-spot coaching when needed.
- Inspect pool decks, rescue equipment, AEDs, first aid supplies, and chemical/safety logs for compliance.
- Document each site visit with written reports, photos, and corrective action items.
- Verify that staff uniforms, signage, and emergency action plans meet company standards.
Employee Scheduling & Staffing
- Build and maintain bi-weekly staff schedules across all assigned sites.
- Fill open shifts, manage callouts, and coordinate emergency coverage to ensure no site is ever short-staffed.
- Approve time-off requests, shift swaps, and timecards in the scheduling system.
- Forecast staffing needs based on client programming, season, and special events.
- Onboard new lifeguards and ensure all hires complete site-specific orientation before their first shift.
Client Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients (property managers, HOA boards, facility directors, etc.).
- Respond to client requests, concerns, and incident reports promptly and professionally.
- Hold weekly check-ins with clients to review service quality.
Training & Staff Development
- Mentor lifeguards and Head Guards, providing feedback, coaching, and growth opportunities.
- Track certification expiration dates and proactively schedule renewals before they lapse.
Safety, Compliance & Incident Response
- Enforce all company safety protocols and local/state health department regulations.
- Respond to and investigate aquatic incidents; complete incident reports and follow up on corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of training, certifications, audits, and site visit reports.
- Be on call during operating hours to support lifeguards with emergencies, escalations, or client issues.
Qualifications & Skills
- 2 years of aquatics experience, with prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple sites, schedules, and competing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to speak comfortably with clients and staff at every level.
- Proficient with scheduling software, email, and basic spreadsheets/reporting tools.
- Calm, decisive, and professional under pressure, especially during emergencies.
- Self-directed and reliable; able to manage a flexible schedule with minimal supervision.
Pay: $23.00 per hour
