QUALITY INSPECTOR — BLUEPRINT ADVANCED MANUFACTURING
Full-Time | On-Site | Denver, CO
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
ABOUT US
Founded in 1969, Blueprint Advanced Manufacturing (BAM) is a Denver-based precision and production machining company with 50 years of American manufacturing heritage. We serve aerospace, defense, industrial, and commercial customers and hold ourselves to demanding quality standards — ISO 9001 certified, with AS9100 certification in progress for completion by end of 2026. Quality is a core value here, not just a department.
We partner with Pickens Technical College and the Rocky Mountain Tool & Machining Association (RMTMA) to develop the next generation of manufacturing professionals. We welcome applicants at all experience levels — compensation is commensurate with experience and aptitude.

POSITION OVERVIEW
We're looking for a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our QA team. This is a multi-function role covering in-process floor inspection, final inspection, CMM operation, and first article inspection (FAI/FAIR). Whether you're an experienced inspector or a motivated graduate of an advanced manufacturing program, we want to hear from you. The right candidate has a sharp eye, strong metrology fundamentals, and the discipline to document everything correctly the first time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform in-process inspections on the production floor, verifying dimensional conformance to print at key operation stages.
• Execute final inspection on completed parts using hand tools, optical comparators, and surface plates; accept or reject per documented criteria.
• Operate CMM (manual and/or CNC) to measure complex geometries, GD&T callouts, and tight-tolerance features; generate and interpret inspection reports.
• Lead and document First Article Inspections (FAI/FAIR) per AS9102 or customer-specific requirements.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T callouts, and customer specifications with precision and confidence.
• Maintain calibration records and gage control per company and customer requirements.
• Initiate and document nonconformances (NCRs); support root cause analysis and corrective action (CAPA) processes.
• Collaborate with machinists, programmers, and production staff to resolve quality issues on the floor in real time.
• Support QMS documentation, work instructions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain orderly and accurate inspection records; support internal and customer audits as needed.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Attention to detail, organizational discipline, and a commitment to getting it right the first time.
• Ability to work collaboratively on a production floor and communicate clearly with machinists and team leads.
Preferred:
• 3 years of quality inspection experience in a precision machining or manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with standard metrology tools: micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, indicators.
• CMM operation experience (Zeiss, Mitutoyo, Hexagon, or equivalent).
• Experience performing or supporting First Article Inspections per AS9102 or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of nonconformance, CAPA, and QMS documentation practices.
• Familiarity with CAD software — Autodesk Fusion experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with 3D printing processes and additive manufacturing.
• Experience in an AS9100- or ISO 9001-certified environment.
• CMM programming experience (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar).
• ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or equivalent credential.
• Graduates of advanced manufacturing programs (e.g., Pickens Technical College) are encouraged to apply.
