- Execute on customer-provided electrical specifications, schematics, and requirements through:
- Finalizing panel layouts
- Releasing build-ready schematics and wiring diagrams
- Hands-on panel build support, wiring, bring-up, and debug during NPI and prototyping phases
- Electrical component selection with focus on reliability, derating, thermal margin, and compliance
- Support the setup and ramp of a new production line, including:
- Assembly workflows and test procedures
- Supporting fixture, tooling, and test station needs
- Assisting with work instructions and build documentation
- Collaboration with manufacturing technicians, mechanical engineers, quality, and compliance teams
- Designing for manufacturability, serviceability, uptime, and long-term field reliability
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (required)
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline (preferred)
- Experience in electrical design for power distribution systems, power panels, or industrial electrical enclosures, including creation of electrical schematics, panel layouts, wire routing, and interconnect diagrams
- Experience designing under EMI, thermal, routing, cleanliness, packaging, and safety constraints
- Experience with thermal management, including understanding of heat dissipation, airflow, derating, and thermal constraints in enclosed electrical systems
- Strong understanding of key electrical components used in high-power applications, including contactors, relays, breakers, fuses, capacitors, terminal blocks, and power supplies
- Hands-on experience building and wiring electrical panels / power boxes, including panel wiring, cable routing, and harness assembly and termination
- Experience with electrical bring-up, testing, and troubleshooting, including continuity and insulation resistance testing, functional testing under load, and debugging wiring, grounding, and power-related issues
- Comfortable working in a shopfloor or lab environment to support builds and resolve issues
- Familiarity with UL standards and codes applicable to high-power electrical equipment
- Familiarity with IPC standards relevant to control panels and wiring
- Proficiency with ECAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical, or equivalent
