BluePearl Specialty Emergency Pet Hospital is seeking knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technicians to join their fast-paced Emergency Department!

Shift Needs: Wednesday - Friday Overnights

Sunday - Tuesday - Day shift

We provide generous weekend day shift differentials!

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 / hour

*with licensing this range may shift*

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through CareerTrax leveling system.

We are looking for experienced technicians with a strong work ethic who are dedicated to their chosen profession and is passionate about providing the highest quality of care for their patients. As an Veterinary Technician, you will:

  • Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
  • Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
  • Assist the doctor with creating patient treatment plans and thoroughly explaining to owners.
  • Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
  • Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
  • Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
  • Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
  • Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
  • Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.

Why BluePearl?

Our Continuing Education Plan includes $500/year reimbursement for CVT and $750/year for VTS. The Continuing Education allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for CVT and VTS associates. Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full-time CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours. Newly hired associates will receive a pro-rated amount of any CE benefit for which they are eligible.
