VetUrgency, a BluePearl Partner, is seeking a skilled Relief Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team in Frederick, MD!

Our urgent care patient model is designed to reduce the stress, time, and cost associated with full service emergency rooms or referral hospitals while providing an uncompromised standard of care. Pay: $24.50 - $47.00 / hour competitive shift differentials
This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.
We Offer Competitive Shift Differential Pay For Eligible Hours Worked For Nights And Weekends. Shift Differentials Are Based On a 4-hour Minimum. For Example

- Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.50/hr. Shift Differential
- Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.50/hr. Shift Differential
- Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50/hr. Shift Differential
- Assist in sedating, monitoring, and recovering patients for minor procedures, ensuring safe and effective anesthesia use.
- Triage urgent care cases as they arrive, assessing patient stability and obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
- Perform digital radiography using proper techniques, including accurate patient positioning.
- Recognize normal and abnormal vital signs, including heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation, and communicate findings to the veterinarian.
- Obtain and interpret vital signs, monitor patient trends, and alert the veterinarian to any changes.
- Assist with stabilization of patients requiring urgent care interventions, such as oxygen therapy, wound management, or fluid therapy.
- Accurately calculate and administer medications, including subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous routes.
- Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral veins efficiently.
- Assist with minor surgical procedures and wound care management.
- Provide client education and discharge instructions with patience and empathy.
- Support and mentor fellow team members to foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
