Overnight Veterinary Technician - Emergency

BluePearl Specialty Emergency Pet Hospital in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an exceptional, qualified, and passionate Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our growing Patient Care team.

You will work alongside other skilled veterinary professionals to provide remarkable care for our patients and their families.

Shift Details: Sunday-Tuesday 7pm-7am -Schedule may vary seasonally due to hospital needs.

We provide generous weekend day shift differentials!

Pay: $24.00 - $31.00 / hour Shift Differential

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through internal leveling system.

As An Veterinary Technician, You Will

• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Assist the doctor with creating patient treatment plans and thoroughly explaining to owners.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.

Our Continuing Education Plan includes $500/year reimbursement for CVT and $750/year for VTS. The Continuing Education allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for CVT and VTS associates. Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full-time CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours. Newly hired associates will receive a pro-rated amount of any CE benefit for which they are eligible.
