Licensed Veterinary Technician - Cardiology

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Queens, NY is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our skilled Cardiology team!

Schedule: Weekday schedule occasional on-call expectations

Base Pay: $27.00 - $51.00 / hour

This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.

In addition to base pay, we offer competitive shift differentials for eligible evening, overnight, and weekend hours (4-hour minimum):

• Mon–Fri | 6 PM–8 AM: $4.50/hr
• Sat–Sun | 8 AM–6 PM: $4.50/hr
• Sat–Sun | 6 PM–8 AM: $8.00/hr
  
  

As a Cardiology Veterinary Technician, You Will

• Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
• Report patient signalment, problem list and plan during nursing rounds.
• Calculate basic medical math.
• Understand classification of commonly-used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response.
• Administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Perform phlebotomy
• Triage and obtain patient history
• Assist clinician with diagnostic procedures
• Patient care including treatments
• Prepare prescriptions and communicate discharge orders to clients
