The Field Service Technician will take ownership of their daily jobs and be responsible for delivering exceptional floor care services to both residential homeowners and commercial businesses

Tactical Work Listing:

  • Assist Sr Floor Care Specialist and experienced technicians on floor care projects, providing support and learning technical procedures under direct supervision.
  • Support floor care services including carpet & upholstery cleaning and protection, tile/grout cleaning and protection, vinyl floor care, stone polishing, and wood floor cleaning and protection services.
  • Assist with VCT scrubbing, stripping, and polishing operations while learning proper equipment operation and surface preparation techniques.
  • Support marble floor cleaning and polishing services by preparing equipment, materials, and assisting with specialized procedures under guidance.
  • Learn to communicate with clients about services while supporting the Sr Floor Care Specialist in creating trust and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Help create and maintain an atmosphere of trust and safety within client homes and commercial spaces through respectful conduct and professional appearance.
  • Take excellent care of all equipment and resources provided, learning proper maintenance, cleaning, and storage procedures while following established protocols.
  • Support large projects by following directions from Sr Floor Care Specialist, maintaining quality standards, and learning project coordination procedures.
  • Observe client needs assessment and service recommendations while learning to identify appropriate floor care solutions and maintenance programs.
  • Follow company standards, safety protocols, and quality control measures while developing technical skills and supporting project completion goals.

Position Specifications and Standards:

  • Entry-level position with 0-2 years experience in floor care services or related fields with strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning principles with eagerness to develop proficiency in carpet cleaning, tile/grout cleaning, vinyl floor care, wood floor care, and stone polishing.
  • Concrete and Coatings experience is a plus
  • Willingness to learn floor care chemistry, cleaning agents, equipment operation, and surface-specific treatment requirements across multiple flooring types.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability with ability to follow detailed instructions and take direction from Sr Floor Care Specialist and experienced team members.
  • Good communication skills with professional demeanor and ability to interact respectfully with clients in both commercial and residential settings.
  • Physical ability to assist with floor care equipment operation and perform supporting work in various commercial and residential environments.
  • Trainable attitude with commitment to safety protocols, quality standards, and continuous learning and improvement.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record and reliable transportation with willingness to travel to various project sites as required.

  • All routine work will be documented in an operations manual for your position. The information included in the operations manual is proprietary.
  • All team members must respect each other's time, space and need for concentration. Socializing and interruptions must not impede workflow.

  • Fully engage in all coaching sessions, maintaining open and honest communication with teammates & supervisor.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to assist with floor care equipment including carpet cleaners, tile/grout machines, floor scrubbers, strippers, and polishing equipment under supervision.
  • Physical stamina for demanding work including lifting up to 40 pounds, bending, squatting, and prolonged standing while learning proper techniques.
  • Capability to work in various commercial and residential environments while maintaining professional demeanor and supporting an atmosphere of trust and safety.
  • Willingness to learn proper handling of cleaning chemicals and floor care products following safety protocols under supervision and guidance.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record and reliable transportation for travel to various commercial and residential project sites.
  • Flexibility to work various hours including evenings and weekends based on client needs and project deadlines while in the training phase.

Field Direction Structure:

  • Administrative Reporting: RFC Field Manager for scheduling, performance reviews, administrative matters, and career development
  • Field Supervision: Senior Floor Care Specialist provides direct technical guidance, training, and work direction during project execution
  • Learning Relationship: Receive mentorship and technical training from experienced team members while maintaining accountability to RFC Field Manager

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive starting wage: $20 - $24 per hour (can quickly make $25-30 per hour)
