The Director of Operations reports to the Chief Operations Officer and provides strategic and operational leadership across multiple facilities and/or customer business units.

This leader will drive operational performance, process improvement, customer satisfaction, financial results, and team member engagement while ensuring operations are scalable and aligned with company objectives.

Operational Leadership

• Lead multiple facilities or business units and drive consistent execution of company standards.
• Translate company strategy into measurable operational results.
• Monitor KPIs, identify risks, and implement corrective actions and improvement plans.
• Drive continuous improvement, efficiency, safety, quality, and cost control.

Customer & Service Excellence

• Ensure operations consistently meet customer expectations and service-level commitments.
• Build strong customer relationships and proactively identify opportunities to improve service.

Financial & Resource Management

• Oversee labor planning, workforce optimization, equipment, and resource allocation.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning.
• Improve productivity and asset utilization while managing operating costs.

Leadership & Team Development

• Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Coach and develop operational leaders and high-potential talent.
• Support succession planning and leadership development.

Technology & Innovation

• Identify and implement technology, WMS enhancements, automation, and process improvements.
• Leverage systems and data to improve productivity, accuracy, and scalability.
• Champion Bluegrass Supply Chain’s core values and leadership principles.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field.
• MBA or Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
• 10 years of progressive operations leadership experience, preferably in 3PL, warehousing, or distribution.
• Proven experience leading multi-site operations or complex customer-based business units.
• Hands-on experience with WMS platforms.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong executive communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated success in strategic problem-solving, process improvement, project management, and change leadership.
