Bluegrass Specialty Surgery Center is seeking a Full-Time Front Desk Specialist to join our administrative team in Lexington, KY.
As a Front Desk Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations while creating a positive and welcoming experience for all patients and visitors. This position serves as the first point of contact for the facility and supports a variety of administrative and patient-facing responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phones and respond to patient and physician office inquiries promptly and courteously
- Coordinate front desk activities to support efficient daily operations
- Verify and collect necessary patient information, including documentation for anesthesia billing
- Complete and maintain the Daily Rec and scan documentation for manager review
- Track and maintain logs for daily activity, including cancellations and add-ons
- Assist with maintaining office supplies and necessary forms
- Ensure the waiting area and front office remain clean, organized, and presentable
- Support additional administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Prior medical front desk or administrative experience preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and team members
- Proficient with computers and standard office equipment (phones, copier, fax, credit card machines)
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred
- Basic understanding of medical terminology preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
