Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Radiology Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Prepare patients for radiological procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and addressing concerns to ensure patient comfort and cooperation.
- Assist radiologists and technologists during imaging procedures such as CT scans, and nuclear medicine, ensuring proper patient positioning and safety measures.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall condition before, during, and after procedures; recognize signs of distress or adverse reactions promptly.
- Administer injections of contrast media or medications.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation including patient assessments, procedure notes, medication administration records, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage medical supplies and equipment sterilization processes; ensure all imaging tools are functioning correctly and safely.
- Educate patients on post-procedure care instructions, including wound care or activity restrictions when necessary.
Requirements
- Valid nursing license (RN) with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Proven experience working in radiology settings or similar environments such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, or imaging centers.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic for accurate documentation.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to diagnostic imaging, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology including ICD coding standards.
- Experience with IV infusion techniques, venipuncture (phlebotomy), and aseptic technique essential for patient safety.
- Strong assessment skills with the ability to recognize acute pain management needs and respond swiftly to emergencies such as airway management or trauma incidents.
