Role Description The Hospitality Team Member is a part-time, on-site position based at the distillery in Midway, KY. This role involves greeting guests, managing check-ins and reservations, and providing an engaging and informative visitor experience. Daily tasks include leading tours and tastings, explaining the bourbon-making process, answering questions, and assisting guests in the retail area with product selection and purchases. The Hospitality Team Member also helps set up and break down events, maintains a clean and organized guest space, and supports basic administrative and point-of-sale activities.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and hospitality skills, including a friendly demeanor, active listening, and a focus on creating positive guest experiences.
- Clear verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information about bourbon, distilling, and the distillery’s history in an engaging and accessible way.
- Organizational and time-management abilities to handle tours, tastings, reservations, and retail support efficiently in a busy environment.
- Basic point-of-sale and cash-handling skills, with attention to accuracy and reliability in retail transactions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, move between indoor and outdoor areas, and assist with light physical tasks such as event setup.
- Comfort working in a team-oriented environment and collaborating with production, events, and retail staff.
- Interest in bourbon and craft spirits; prior experience in hospitality, tasting rooms, tourism, or retail is beneficial.
