Travel Flex Registered Nurse
Location: This position will travel to Lexington, Frankfort, Cynthiana, and Florence
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, with varied hours for coverage as needed
Incentive: $48 per diem for each day worked, in addition to base pay
As a BCN Hospice Team member, you will be a part of a team providing care and support to patients and their families who no longer receive treatments to cure their terminal illness, but instead choose care to improve their comfort and quality of life. Our service allows our team members to focus on one patient at a time providing care where the patient calls home. While this often is a house or apartment, we also provide care at nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals. If a patient’s care needs are too complicated for home care or require a higher level of attention from nurses and other experts, we can provide care at one of our Hospice Care Centers.

The Travel Flex Nurse will require cross training to include the ability to care for patients in routine home care, inpatient units, or nursing facility setting as needed. The Travel Flex Nurse provides skilled professional nursing care to the patient, family, caregiver as prescribed by the physician and in compliance with regulations as established by the State Board of Registered Nursing, the patient, and the policies of Bluegrass Care Navigators.

Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse through the Kentucky Board of Nursing or participating COMPACT state Board of Nursing.
- One year of general nursing experience required.
- Skilled in nursing practice and able to maintain professionalism in moments of emotional stress.
- Provide care in a compassionate nature while serving a diverse population respectfully and professionally
- Complies with accepted professional and ethical standards and principles.
- Understands and supports the hospice philosophy and principles of death and dying.
- Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
- Have satisfactory references from nursing schools, previous (or current) employers and/or professional peers.
- Have excellent observation, good nursing judgment and communication skills. Ability to provide accurate and timely documentation.
- Self-directed to work with minimal supervision within an interdisciplinary team.
- Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation to meet the needs of patients and BCN.
- Can work as needed for a 24-hour/7 day a week operation and provide services at a variety of locations in and amongst defined regions in the BCN service area. Locations may include but are not limited to home environments, nursing facilities, and inpatient units.
- Team members will be expected to comply with Bluegrass Care Navigators (BCN) Employee Health, infectious disease, and vaccination policies.
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile in good working order, that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements, with personal auto liability insurance of $100,000/$300,000 in bodily injury coverage.
