What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Therapist (School-Based) - LPCA or CSW position at Bluegrass Behavioral Services for Children?
Bring Therapy Into the Places Where Children Actually Live, Learn, and Grow
Bluegrass Behavioral Services is growing—and we are looking for exceptional child therapists who want to practice differently.
We are seeking therapists with a passion for early childhood mental health, child development, attachment, trauma-informed care, and in-vivo therapy. This is an opportunity for a clinician who understands that some of the most meaningful therapeutic work with young children does not happen sitting across from them in an office—it happens in the moment, within the child’s natural environment.
Our therapists have the opportunity to work directly within childcare and educational settings, observing children where challenges actually occur and providing therapeutic intervention in real time. Our School-Based Therapist Program embeds therapists directly within childcare centers, creating a consistent and integrated therapeutic presence for the children we serve.
We Are Looking for a Specialist
This is not simply a traditional outpatient therapist position moved into a school.
We are looking for clinicians who are excited about becoming specialists in early childhood intervention and who recognize the tremendous opportunity that exists when therapy occurs within a child's natural environment.
The ideal candidate will be interested in:
- Early childhood mental health and development
- In-vivo and naturalistic therapeutic intervention
- Attachment- and relationship-focused approaches
- Trauma-informed care
- Emotional and behavioral regulation
- Working collaboratively with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals
- Helping adults understand the why behind a child's behavior
- Creating change that extends beyond an individual therapy session
Your Impact Goes Beyond One Child
One of the most exciting aspects of this position is the opportunity to coach and support educators in real time.
Our therapists work alongside teachers and childcare professionals, providing practical strategies during the moments when children need support most. Rather than simply making recommendations after an event has occurred, therapists can help educators navigate challenging behaviors, emotional dysregulation, difficult transitions, and other concerns as they happen.
Our goal is bigger than treating one child at a time.
We want our clinicians to help create healthier environments around children. Through collaboration, modeling, education, and in-the-moment coaching, therapists can help strengthen the skills of the adults caring for many children—creating the potential for a long-term positive effect on an entire classroom, facility, and system.
This systems-focused approach is central to our program: direct coaching is intended to help educators develop practical skills while building a more trauma-informed, therapeutic culture throughout the facility.
Compensation That Recognizes Specialized Expertise
We recognize that the clinician we are seeking brings a specialized and highly valuable skill set.
For that reason, Bluegrass Behavioral Services is striving to provide top-of-industry compensation for qualified clinicians who share our vision and have the expertise—or strong desire to develop the expertise—necessary to do this work exceptionally well.
