We are looking for a Legal Analyst to join our team at Bluefors in Syracuse, NY. In this role, you will provide legal and administrative support to the Chief Business Officer while partnering with managers and teams across the organization to support corporate legal operations, contract management, regulatory compliance, and export compliance. Your responsibilities will include conducting legal research and analyzing statutes, regulations, and legal publications that impact the business while providing written summaries and recommendations. You will review, analyze, and manage a variety of contracts and agreements, including customer and supplier terms and conditions, NDAs, and agreements governed by FAR, DFARS, CFR, and other contracting regulations. In addition, you will support contract lifecycle management by implementing and maintaining tracking systems, alerts, and document management processes, while ensuring contractual terms align with company policies and procedures. You will also collaborate cross-functionally to support regulatory and corporate compliance programs, manage export compliance activities, coordinate internal and external audits, maintain legal records and databases, and provide training to employees on legal processes and contracting best practices.

We are looking for a candidate with an Associate's degree and a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program, along with a minimum of three years of experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or in Legal Operations. A Bachelor's degree is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience working in corporate or tax law with a strong background in contract review and management. You should possess excellent legal research, analytical, organizational, and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex legal documents and regulations. Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage confidential information while working independently and collaboratively are essential for success in this role.

We also appreciate candidates with experience supporting regulatory compliance programs, export compliance, and corporate governance initiatives. Experience implementing document management systems, contract management software, and legal databases is highly valued. Familiarity with government contracting regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and CFR, as well as experience supporting audits and compliance reporting, will help you stand out. Pay Range: $63,000-$78,000/Annually

Main Responsibilities Include The Following

  • Conduct legal research to support corporate legal decision-making.
  • Research and analyze statutes, regulations, and legal publications impacting the business.
  • Review, analyze, and provide comments on contracts, agreements, NDAs, and terms and conditions.
  • Interpret agreements governed by FAR, DFARS, CFR, and other applicable contracting regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure contractual requirements accurately reflect business needs.
  • Implement and maintain contract management processes, including tracking, alerts, and workflow automation.
  • Ensure contracts comply with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Support corporate and regulatory compliance programs and projects.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for export compliance and ensure compliance with applicable export regulations.
  • Evaluate and validate export opportunities for regulatory compliance.
  • Support internal and external audits and compliance reporting activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and organize legal records, contracts, databases, and document management systems.
  • Generate reports and convert complex legal data into clear, meaningful information.
  • Provide training and guidance on legal processes, contract management, and compliance best practices.
  • Escalate significant legal or financial risks to appropriate leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We Expect From You

Associate's degree and Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program required.

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum of three years of experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or in Legal Operations.

Experience working in corporate or tax law with significant contract review experience.

Strong understanding of contract management principles and legal documentation.

Experience researching and interpreting statutes, regulations, and legal guidance.

Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CFR, export regulations, and other applicable compliance requirements.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Experience maintaining legal databases and document management systems.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.

Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.

Experience implementing or managing contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems.

Physical Demands

This job operates in both professional office and manufacturing environments. The position regularly requires sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, and using hands to operate standard office equipment. Employees must possess close vision and the ability to read detailed legal documents and electronic records. While working in the manufacturing environment, employees may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts, humid conditions, airborne particles, heat, cold, vibration, and electrical hazards. Mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.

Work Environment

This role interacts regularly with both internal and external customers while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Standard office equipment, including computers, phones, filing cabinets, and copiers, is used daily. The manufacturing environment may expose employees to mechanical equipment, noise, environmental conditions, and other industrial hazards. The noise level is typically moderately loud, and all required safety procedures and PPE must be followed.
