Position Summary
The Environmental Services Specialist is responsible for ensuring the facility is clean, sanitary, and well-maintained. This includes patient rooms, common areas, offices, kitchens, laundry, and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms, common areas, offices, kitchens, and community spaces
- Perform daily and deep-cleaning duties as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all facility areas to meet health and safety standards
- Manage cleaning supply inventory, restocking and reporting needs as necessary
- Operate laundry equipment; wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens and other items
- Safely handle cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Report maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly
- Follow facility infection-control procedures and protocols
- Work scheduled days and weekends as assigned
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or healthcare environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations related to workplace safety and environmental health.
- Experience with hospital or healthcare facility cleaning is a plus due to the specialized nature of sanitation requirements.
- Familiarity with floor care techniques including stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet extraction.
- Proven ability to follow detailed cleaning protocols while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong understanding of environmental services best practices with a focus on sanitation standards for sensitive environments.
