Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated HVAC Mechanical Project Manager to oversee commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role is responsible for managing project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, procurement, and client relationships while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and industry standards.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and capable of coordinating multiple moving parts in a fast-paced construction environment. Experience working alongside electrical, controls, or prefab teams is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage commercial and industrial HVAC/mechanical construction projects from kickoff to completion
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts
- Coordinate field labor, subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries
- Monitor project progress and proactively resolve issues impacting cost, schedule, or quality
- Lead project meetings with owners, GCs, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Ensure projects are completed in accordance with contract documents and specifications
Financial Oversight
- Track project costs, labor productivity, and equipment usage
- Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
- Review and approve invoices, purchase orders, and subcontractor billing
- Assist with estimating support and project forecasting
- Maintain accurate job cost reporting and margin tracking
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with superintendents, foremen, and field teams to support project execution
- Coordinate with electrical, controls, plumbing, and other trades to maintain project flow
- Maintain strong communication with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders
- Support procurement and long-lead equipment tracking
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce company safety standards and OSHA compliance
- Participate in jobsite safety meetings and project planning
- Ensure quality control standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications
- 5 years of HVAC/mechanical construction project management experience preferred
- Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and mechanical construction practices
- Experience managing commercial or industrial construction projects
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and mechanical plans
- Knowledge of project scheduling software and construction management systems
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Design-Build projects
- Familiarity with union environments and prevailing wage projects
- Experience coordinating with electrical and prefab/construction teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required
Pay: $78,779.59 - $94,874.35 per year
