A school in the Pittston, PA area is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time school-based position that can start within the next 12 weeks. This position requires a bus/van ride with the student each day from Dallas to Pittston and back at the end of the day. Transportation time is fully paid.
This role will run for the remainder of the current school year, with a strong likelihood of extension into the next school year if it proves to be a good fit for both the nurse and the district.
Position OverviewThis is a 1:1 nursing position supporting a single student throughout the school day. The student has multiple disabilities, and the nurse will provide individualized care and health monitoring during school hours.
The position also requires riding the school bus with the student from their home to school and back each day to ensure continuity of care during transportation. Transportation time is fully paid.
Candidates with previous experience supporting children with multiple disabilities are strongly preferred.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide 1:1 nursing care and medical support to a student throughout the school day
Ride the school bus with the student to and from school each day
Monitor the students health status and respond to medical needs as necessary
Administer medications and provide basic medical care when needed
Maintain accurate documentation and student health records
Follow school district and Department of Health protocols
Collaborate with school staff to support the students health and safety
Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
Ability to obtain Pennsylvania school clearances required for school-based roles
First Aid and CPR certification preferred
Experience working with children with multiple disabilities strongly preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills
