- Assist with front desk duties, such as answering the phone, scheduling appointments and verifying insurance information
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that all equipment is properly sterilized and maintained
- Perform basic administrative tasks, such as filing patient records and processing medical billing
- Perform preliminary testing on patients, including documenting medical history
- Prepare patients for examinations by the optometrist, including preliminary testing and explaining procedures
- Assist with contact lens fittings
- Assist with frame selection and eyeglass measurements
- Basic housekeeping duties such as cleaning windows, emptying trash, cleaning bathrooms
- Other duties as assigned: ideal candidate will be adaptive to new duties as assigned

- Pleasant demeaner and professional appearance
- Proficient in the English language, (necessary for documenting medical history)
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Basic familiarity with medical office procedures and protocols
- Experience using electronic medical record systems (e.g., CrystalPM)
- Basic computer proficiency (typing, scanning, sending email documents)
- Understanding of aseptic technique for maintaining cleanliness and preventing infection
- Knowledge of optometric/ophthalmology procedures and equipment
- Familiarity with medical billing processes
- Self-starter, does not need constant supervision to complete assigned tasks
