What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychiatrist, PRN position at Bluebonnet Trails Community Services?
This physician (MD/DO) position provides psychiatric services on an as needed and/or standing block scheduled basis for the assigned location of the 10-bed unit at the Diversion Center in Georgetown and other BTCS locations as agreed upon. This position is responsible for conducting diagnostic assessments and follow ups in a crisis setting with provision of medication management that is evidence based and in compliance with American Psychiatric Association practice parameters, HHS requirements, and BTCS policies and procedures.
Primary clinical responsibilities will include conduction of reassessments, and routine medication checks for patients currently admitted to the Diversion Center during unit rounds which are typically scheduled to occur 8:00am-10:00 am and 8:00pm -10:00pm seven days a week but may also include on-call coverage of on demand psychiatric evaluations of new admissions and discharges as well as any urgent/emergent orders at Diversion Center. On-call physician access is expected to be within one hour and may include release from Emergency Detention Orders, completion of Certificates of Medical Examinations, or approval of orders for restraints and emergency medications as necessary.
This position will be under the supervision of the Medical Director of Crisis Services and Chief Medical Officer position and is responsible for adhering to all agency policies and procedures. This position will be providing telehealth services in a supervised clinical setting with RNs, QMHPs, and other patient care staff on site and the physician most possess an ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.

Hourly Salary Range: $116.00
Minimum Qualifications
Psychiatrist: Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy.
By hire date: Completion of PGY-3 year of psychiatry residency training that included sufficient on-call and emergency psychiatry experience to meet ACGME requirements for GME.
In good standing with written letter of approval to moonlight from the program director if still in training.
Current, active license to practice medicine in Texas as issued by the Texas Medical Board.
Current, active Controlled Substance Registration Certificate issued by the U.S. Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration (or in process).
Must have a valid Texas drivers license and maintain approved driving status throughout employment.
