Required Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must meet the following non-negotiable requirements.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License and Clean Driving Record: A valid, active U.S. driver's license is required. Your driving history will be thoroughly verified, so a clean record is essential.
- Significant Equipment Expertise: You must have extensive, proven experience operating professional-grade lawn care equipment, including stand-on mowers, large walk-behind mowers, string trimmers and backpack blowers.
- Demonstrated Leadership and Training Ability: You must have the proven ability to lead a crew and successfully train new hires on proper equipment use, safety protocols, and our company standards.

Position Summary: The Lawn Crew Lead is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the day-to-day management of a lawn maintenance crew. You will ensure that all jobs are completed efficiently, safely, and to our high standards of Quality Craftsmanship. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, a natural problem-solver, and a dependable professional who embodies our values of Integrity and Customer-Centric Service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise and guide a crew of 2-3 members, providing clear direction and motivation to ensure daily tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Operational Excellence: Lead daily operations, including preparing the crew for the day's work and performing site visits throughout the day to ensure quality. Utilize an equipment checklist to ensure all gear is accounted for and in working order at the start and end of each day.
- Hands-On Work: Actively participate in all lawn maintenance activities, including mowing, edging, trimming, and blowing debris. You may also assist with more complex tasks like sod installations or other landscaping projects as needed.
- Customer Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact on job sites, professionally addressing any customer questions or concerns and ensuring their complete satisfaction.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with the owner and other management, reporting on job progress, team performance, and any issues that arise.
- Training & Mentorship: Train new and existing crew members on proper equipment operation, safety protocols, and company procedures.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce all safety protocols on the job site, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe equipment handling. Conduct daily safety moments at the morning meeting to increase awareness and focus on safety.
- Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and resolve on-site issues to ensure projects stay on track and client expectations are met.
Desired Skills:
- Proven Experience: Prior experience in a leadership role within the landscaping or lawn care industry is preferred. Experience with large walk-behind or stand-on mowers is a significant plus.
- Strong Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills are essential for leading a team and interacting with customers.
