Responsibilities
- Safely operate shuttle buses, vans, or personal vehicles to transport patients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other destinations in compliance with all state transportation regulations.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing courteous support and ensuring their comfort throughout the journey.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety standards are met; report any issues promptly.
- Manage scheduling and route planning efficiently to optimize pickup and drop-off times while adhering to traffic laws.
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers, healthcare facilities, and passengers to coordinate pickups, address concerns, and provide updates as needed.
- Handle heavy lifting when assisting passengers with mobility devices or luggage, ensuring proper manual handling techniques are used.
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle condition reports for accountability and compliance.
Skills
- Proven experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or limousine service that demonstrates reliability and professionalism.
- Familiarity with
driver standards or similar personal vehicle delivery roles. - Strong knowledge of manual handling techniques and safe heavy lifting practices.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean record in commercial driving, school bus driving, or paratransit operations.
- Deep understanding of state transportation regulations governing non-emergency medical transportation services.
- Exceptional customer service skills combined with effective communication abilities to interact positively with diverse passengers.
- Ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues independently.
