Responsibilities of Respiratory Therapist:
Perform chest examinations on a range of patients
Consult with doctors and other healthcare staff to develop and modify patient treatment plans
Provide detailed therapy, requiring significant independent judgment
Perform exams and diagnostic tests measuring lung capacity and blood acidity/alkalinity
Treat patients using oxygen or oxygen mixtures, aerosol medications and chest physiotherapy
Connect patient who can't breathe to a ventilator
Educate patients and families on how to use equipment and medications
Regularly monitor both patients and equipment
3 years' experience
Qualifications for Respiratory Therapist:
Primary series of the COVID-19 vaccine required
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care
Current state licensure
Experience with Trach Care and Ventilator Management in skilled nursing home, LTACH or hospital setting
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact well with residents and families
