Position Summary
The Shift manager (SM) is pivotal in the ICF/IDD group homes, leading the site staff and implementing all necessary training to ensure active resident treatment. The SM is under the direct supervision of the Site Director and works in close collaboration with the QIDP in Habilitation Planning and developing programs as required by the Interdisciplinary Team.
The SM is expected to demonstrate a solid commitment to the site and the residents they serve. It is crucial and a fundamental requirement for the shift manager to be able to relate to people with ICF/IDD in a supportive and therapeutic manner, fostering an environment of empathy and care.
This person manages the ICF/IDD group homes under limited supervision during their shift. They are responsible for ensuring that all programs are appropriately implemented to meet the individual goals and needs of the residents and demonstrate the high level of trust and confidence placed in them.
Responsibilities
Ultimately, the job of the SM is to supervise and develop staff/resident relations following company and State policies. This includes:
- Reports managerial concerns to the Site Director.
- Manages day-to-day operations of assigned shifts.
- Ensures resident rights are protected at all times.
- Ensures program consistency and coordination of the site through regular monitoring.
- Assist QIDP in providing feedback to Direct Support Professionals during staff meetings.
- Assist QIDP in training staff in programs, program documentation, and maintaining training records.
- Supervise all direct care staff on shift, ensuring all household procedures and learning programs are followed (including timesheet monitoring, filing employee injury reports, conducting personnel reviews, approving time off, and submitting PARs).
- Complete any necessary disciplinary actions and communicate staff concerns with HR and Site Director.
- Maintain coverage and monitor all documentation to ensure accuracy and ensure completion.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain assigned areas of responsibility for staff.
- Report allegations of abuse and neglect to the internal investigations team.
- Attend Quarterly meetings and provide input on progress as needed.
- Monitor household and vehicle health and safety and immediately report any concerns to Facilities.
- Maintain communication with QIDP regarding program needs and issues.
- Conduct observations to monitor staff interactions with residents to ensure appropriateness and compliance with ICF/IDD standards.
- Works as DSP on-site coverage as needed.
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Success Criteria
- The primary criteria for success are resident and employee affinity. Success is measured around resident satisfaction and employee advocacy. Success criteria include:
- Ensure that all Federal, State, Local, ICF/IID, and Innovation waiver service standards and regulations are followed.
- Follow all policies and procedures per the organization.
- Serve on-call for the site on a rotating basis, working on shifts as needed.
- Provides training for new staff at Orientation and ongoing training for veteran staff.
- Participate as an Administrative Team Member.
- Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel at all times.
- Ability to handle physical aspects of the job, including the ability to perform NCI interventions, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and standing and walking for extended periods.
- Independently and consistently completes specific job duties.
- Provides a clean, neat, and organized work environment and home
- Maintain certification in applicable training, including, but not limited to, CPR and First Aid, NCI, Medication Administration, Blood Borne Pathogens, and TB Skin Test, and complete competency-based training in areas identified by the organization.
- May participate in amended work schedule.
Experience and Education Required
- Have a working knowledge of Developmental Disabilities gained through education and/or professional experience.
- Knowledge of educational/training techniques, behavioral intervention and treatment, task analysis, developmental programming, and habilitation program implementation and monitoring.
- Ability to direct others positively to provide the link between the habilitation plan and program implementation.
- Current DSP IV or higher in good standing (internal only).
- Minimum Education required is a high school diploma or equivalent, plus 1 year of ICF/IDD supervisory experience.

Pay: $ $20.50 per hour
