Blue Wave Pediatrics is a new Pediatric clinic in the Clearwater area opening in October. Blue Wave Pediatrics has a panel of pediatric patients as well as a Walk-in pediatric center. Blue Wave also has a Concussion Specialty Clinic in the same office. Same day appointments will be open to the public. We seek to serve the pediatric population for their urgent care needs and to offer the community a state-of-the-art pediatric concussion clinic.

We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Blue Wave Pediatrics. As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, you will provide specialized care to infants, children, and adolescents. Your expertise in pediatric healthcare and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment will ensure efficient and high-quality care for our young patients
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to pediatric patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
- Minor procedures such as laceration repair.
- Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans for acute conditions, injuries, and minor surgical procedures.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and other treatments following established protocols and guidelines.
- Provide patient and family education on disease prevention, treatment plans, and follow-up care, ensuring clear and concise communication.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays and laboratory studies, to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff, to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records, documenting patient encounters, assessments, treatments, and follow-up instructions.
- Adhere to regulatory guidelines and standards of care, ensuring patient safety and compliance with established protocols.
- Stay current with advances in pediatric healthcare through professional development activities, including attending conferences and engaging in continuing education opportunities.
- Ability to communicate effectively, in verbal and written form with patients, family members, physicians and representatives of the community
- IV placement and bed-side ultrasound techniques are helpful in the clinic
Requirements:
- Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from an accredited nursing program
- Active RN and PNP licensure and be board certification as a NP in Pediatric Acute Care or Pediatric Primary Care
- 2 year experience providing care as a pediatric nurse practitioner
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare technologies (eCW experience a plus)
- Strong knowledge and proficiency in pediatric healthcare practices, including the diagnosis and management of acute illnesses, injuries, and common pediatric conditions
- Ability to quickly assess and prioritize patients based on urgency and severity of symptoms
- Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills in a fast-paced urgent care setting
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to provide compassionate care and establish rapport with pediatric patients and their families
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate and thorough medical documentation
- Dedication to continuous professional growth and ongoing education in pediatric healthcare
- IV placement

Salary: $103,422.00 - $119,310.00 per year
