Job Description:
Blue Water Thinking is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Urologist to support the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center to provide comprehensive urology services to our veterans. The Urologist will be responsible for delivering high-quality care, including clinical and surgical services, in accordance with VA standards and guidelines.
We are willing to reimburse travel costs if not local to Clarksburg, WV
Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties (approx. 99%)
- Provide clinical urology services, including consultations, cystoscopies, trans-urethral resection of bladder tumors and other related procedures.
- Perform urological surgeries and specialty exams such as compensation and pension evaluations.
- Communicate test results to patients and providers in a timely manner.
- Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions to patients.
Administrative Duties (approx. 1%)
- Participate in Quality Management, Peer Review, and Performance Evaluation (FPPE/OPPE) activities.
- Attend required staff meetings and mandatory VA training.
- Maintain active licensure, board certification, and credentialing documentation at all times.
- Complete annual training on privacy, HIPAA, infection control, and other required VA courses.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Urology (ABU).
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Completion of all required continuing medical education (CME) courses.
- Eligibility for VA credentialing and privileging.
- Proof of immunity for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and pertussis, as well as annual influenza vaccination and COVID-19 vaccination.
- Adherence to VA infection control measures, including tuberculosis testing and bloodborne pathogen training.
- Maintenance of professional liability insurance with coverage of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and $3,000,000 aggregate.
- Interested candidates should submit their resume, proof of credentials, two years of case logs that include substantial and recent inpatient experience, and a cover letter detailing their experience and qualifications. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
Schedule Expectations:
- Regular clinic hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
- On-call hours: Weeknights from 4:00 PM to 7:30 AM, averaging 10 days per month.
- Weekend call: 7:30 AM Saturday to 7:30 AM Sunday and/or 7:30 AM Sunday to 7:30 AM Monday, averaging one weekend per month.
- On-call providers must be available within 15 minutes by phone and on-site within 60 minutes.
Eligibility:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role.
Compensation:
This is a 1099 contractual position with an hourly rate range of $270/hr - $280/hr
