Key Responsibilities And Tasks
- Handle spot requests and RFP/RFQ proposals for air, FCL (Full Container Load), and LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors to negotiate favorable rates and service terms.
- Oversee and enhance internal rate sheets, pricing tools, and reference databases to ensure accuracy and usability.
- Negotiate rates with ocean carriers, airlines, trucking companies, and overseas agents to secure best costs.
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Finance to ensure pricing aligns with service capabilities and financial goals.
- Ensure timely completion of tasks and take ownership to maintain workflow continuity across the team as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field (required); advanced degree or certification (e.g., CLP, CSCP) is a plus.
- 2 – 5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain pricing.
- Experience leading pricing initiatives, managing vendor relationships, and contributing to cross-functional business strategies.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across teams.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with pricing or financial modeling tools.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems and logistics platforms.
- Solid understanding of global logistics processes, cost structures, and supply chain methodologies.
