Job Title: Assistant Catering and Events Manager
Salary: $20-25 / hour, depending on experience level, room for growth,
plus gratuity % based on service charge of each individual event
Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours per week) / Year-Round Position. Holidays, mornings, days, nights, and weekends
Role: The Assistant Catering and Events Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of events, acting as the key liaison between clients, vendors, and kitchen staff. Responsibilities include managing logistical details (timelines, equipment), supervising staff, and providing excellent customer service to each catered event. A highly organized and detail-oriented individual who works well in a leadership role and thrives in an event-driven environment.
Duties:
- Conducting site tours and planning, organizing, and coordinating all catering aspects.
- Managing incoming leads and client communication.
- Develop event timelines, assist with venue setup, and manage food/beverage logistics.
- Meet with clients to understand needs, finalize menus, and provide support before, during, and after events.
- Supervise serving staff, coordinate with kitchen teams, and ensure adherence to health/safety regulations.
- Manage inventory, place orders with suppliers, and handle administrative duties like invoices, contracts, and post-event paperwork.
- Conduct wedding tastings and assist couples with event planning
- Work alongside wedding planners and vendors on-site during events
- Plan and coordinate catered events, weddings, and large group functions
- Serve as the primary point of contact for catering clients
- Must be able to work different shifts, including holidays, mornings, days, nights, and weekends
Skills:
- Address performance issues quickly and respectfully by coaching, counseling, and managing conflicts
- Strong organization, time management, communication, and leadership abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Possess extensive food and beverage knowledge
- Must be physically able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
