What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sports Official position at BLUE VALLEY RECREATION COMMISSION?
We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Sports Official. As a Sports Official, you will be responsible for officiating youth and adult recreation games, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for players, coaches, and spectators. We have openings for youth basketball, youth baseball, youth softball, youth volleyball, and adult softball.
Responsibilities:
Officiate sports assigned,
Ensure games are played in accordance with league rules and regulations
Enforce player safety rules and promote sportsmanship among players, coaches, and spectators
Communicate effectively with coaches and players regarding rule interpretations and game decisions
Attend league meetings and training sessions as required
Maintain accurate records of game scores and player statistics
Qualifications:Requirements:
Must be at least 14 years of age for Baseball and Softball
Must be at least 15 years of age for Basketball and Volleyball
Prior experience officiating youth sports preferred, but not required
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
Strong knowledge of, or the ability to learn, sports rules and regulations
Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations
Must pass a background check and complete required training sessions
